Okay, now this Yahoo news blog article takes the cake…it claims to have solved the Bermuda Triangle Mystery. According to the article:

scientists speaking to the Science Channel now believe they might have solved the mystery – and that strange, hexagonal clouds with ‘air bombs’ of up to 170mph could be behind the mysterious sinkings.

Okay…that makes any more sense than any other theory. sigh.

Meteorologist Randy Cerveny told Science Channel,  ‘These types of hexagonal shapes over the ocean are in essence air bombs.

‘They are formed by what are called microbursts and they’re blasts of air that come down out of the bottom of a cloud and then hit the ocean and then create waves that can sometimes be massive in size as they start to interact with each other.’

Air bombs. Right. Yes, microbursts are real, and maybe even these “air bombs”, but I highly doubt they are the reason behind the disappearance of ships and airplanes. Maybe a few “mysterious sinkings”, but not the disappearance of people off of ships, and planes just disappearing off radar. This author has no idea WTF he’s talking about, and this article is a whole bunch of hooey. Can we say disinformation???? sigh I hope people are more discerning than to believe this story, and one meteorologist does not make up “scientists speaking to Science Channel”. sigh

Actually, the comments are very encouraging to me that people are not blindly willing to believe every piece of disinformation out there. There are a lot of very good arguments about the information presented, including the most obvious one…the picture of the “hexagonal clouds” aren’t clouds at all, but holes in the cloud cover! And that anyone can draw a hexagon shape in to fit a space, and lastly, that this photo isn’t even over the Bermuda area…so is this phenomenon happening over this region too?

And come to think on it, this Randy guy is only speaking about microbursts and these hexagonal shaped clouds. I don’t see a correlation to the Bermuda Triangle in his statement. And if it was truly happening in the Bermuda area, why isn’t it happening in other parts of the world??? Nope, sorry…the mystery is not solved by this lame attempt at an explanation. The commenters had better explanations! sheesh
